Cymatics On Stage: Talk By Jodina Meehan Spotlights Cymatics In Art, Fiction

by Jodina Meehan on December 30, 2015

This is the full version of the talk I gave at the Cymatics Conference in Atlanta this fall, including a performance of playing my ‘Cymatic Violin‘ and a LIVE reading from the first chapter of my upcoming book, CYMATICA.

If you have any questions about what I talk about in the video, or would like to know more about how you can get involved in the growing field of cymatics, please leave a comment for me below and I will get back to you.

CYMATICA, the book I talk about here, is the first in a trilogy in the YA fantasy genre, that showcases cymatics as the basis of power and magic in a world where sound has been banned for fifty years, and is a hero’s quest, where the main character is tasked with bringing sound back to their world, and reviving their ancient traditions. Book One in the trilogy is on track to be published in 2016, and is now in the editing stage.

I will be publishing a way for you to sign up for advance copies of the book (and even get involved in the publishing process) in a few days, so keep your eye out! In the meantime, you can hear the beginning of the first chapter read LIVE onstage for the first time above.

Enjoy!

Awesome the books feels like a mix between ‘Frozen Fire’ and some sci-fi novel. Can’t wait and I will definitely be among the first to buy it. :)

Hi Jodina, nothing of particular relevance to add at this time but I just wanted to say Thank You(!) for your sharing your ongoing efforts with this immensely important work in the world and all you do with it, at least from 3-6am… lol!… I also have two children and my music work hours are between 8-11pm, but I may be switching to the morning hours as well… It’s inspiring to see/hear that you navigate your passion around day-to-day family ‘life’…. :)
My 2016 motto/mantra is “that you do something everyday is more important than the amount of time you do it.”
Thanks again! Be well.
ps–I second that… yes, thank the universe for Jeff Volk. Well done/deserved on the kudos. :)

Hello Jodina,
At the beginning of your lecture, you seem to produce a sound or sounds. Are there overtones ?
I’m also interested in Fabien Maman’s sound therapy and he says that overtones are the healing element.
P.S. At the beginning of your lecture, you could use a more convincing, vivid voice.
With love,
Aleksander

Hi Aleksander, thanks for writing!

Yes, I am doing throat singing at the beginning of my talk…which has overtones in it.
Thanks for the feedback!
