World’s First Digital CymaScope: A Big Step Forward For The Science Of Cymatics

American scientist Dr. Sungchul Ji has developed a novel method to digitize the CymaScope, so that sound patterns can be analyzed with digital tools, effectively creating the world’s first Digital CymaScope.

The CymaScope is an instrument that uses a membrane to imprint sounds onto a liquid surface in amazing scientific detail, allowing the once hidden realm of sound to become visible.

Dr. Sungchul Ji first encountered the CymaScope in November 2016 when its developer, John Stuart Reid, gave a lecture at the 11th Water Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria.

He says, “I began to investigate how he could digitize this important new scientific tool, which would allow me and other scientists to analyze CymaGlyphs (the name given to sound patterns) quantitatively.

“I contacted John Stuart Reid and made suggestions as to how this might be possible. Astonishingly, within the space of only a few weeks, facilitated by the timely financial support provided by GreenMedInfo, we were able to develop a digital method that allows any CymaGlyph to be analyzed numerically.”

The first project chosen for the new Digital CymaScope is to use digital cymatics to differentiate between healthy cells and diseased cells. Dr. Sungchul Ji and Mr. Reid believe that the research with the new Digital CymaScope could lead to the development of a new diagnostic tool.

You can read the complete article and learn more about the world’s first digital CymaScope here.

You can watch John Stuart Reid’s lecture on the Holographic Properties of water, which inspired Dr. Ji, here (or by clicking on the video image above).

The Journal of Cymatics congratulates John Stuart Reid and Dr. Sungchul Ji on this important discovery and development in the world of cymatics!

Hi Jodina,

When is your book set to release? I remember you mentioning 2016… Is it still getting edited?

-Thanks

Hi! Thanks for asking :) The book “Cymatica, Book One” of the trilogy is in the editing stage now, and I hope that it will be released in 2017. In the meantime I have completed the songs for the soundtrack, and will be recording them as an album as well this year. If you would like to stay updated on the project progress, you can optin over at https://www.patreon.com/cymatica and you’ll get news, as well as songs, bits of stories and other stuff as I work on getting this big project released! Best wishes, Jodina
