Cymatics “Pods” To Be Used In Innovative New Hotel Design

by Jodina Meehan on May 24, 2014

Editor’s note by Jodina Meehan: John Stuart Reid recently sent in this exciting news announcement about a hotel in Mexico that is incorporating cymatics in their room design:

The CymaScope team was recently approached by Arqka.com, designers of the Amma Center in Mexico, a ground-breaking project that will house hotel guests in ecologically designed pods.

Believed to be the first hotel of its kind in the world, the design is based on 22 adobe-constructed pods, each incorporating many ecological design features. The feature for which the designers asked for the assistance of CymaScope.com was the requirement for each of the 22 pods to relate to a specific chakra of the body.

To achieve this we used cymatics to capture a set of 22 CymaGlyphs based on musical notes in 432 tuning.

We also carried out research to support other associated design elements of the pods, incorporating color, fragrance, crystals, astrological signs and several other aspects associated with each of the 22 chakras.

The resulting CymaGlyphs contain a unique set of beautiful geometries, used by the hotel designers in their choice of textiles and textures for wall and floor finishes and for fabric designs, unique to each pod.

Hi Jodina
RE: This beautiful Mexican resort looks like I already know where our next family vacation is going to be. Love receiving the Newsletter – it’s always loaded with great information so pkease keep it coming!
FYI – I would like you to know we support yours and John Syuart Reid’s work 110%. I emailed John Stuart sometime re my personal interest in Spherical Architecture and the use of light and sound inside such, his warm and encouraging response was that he too had an interest in the sonar properties inside spheres. Cymatics is so fascinating but only recently “new” to my ears. It very much compliments my remaining life’s passion to manufacture spheres for a multitude of uses. With individuals like you, Mr. Reid and other’s help, mass production of spheres will becomes a reality in time (our project’s focus – mine and a few associate’s) we too would definitely like to incorporate cymatics in design areas utilizing shells 8′ to 30′ in diameter. Anyone or company you know of who might entertain helping us manifest, we would welcome all correspondence with ideas of advancing some CAD drawings at idea stage that we already have from ‘our’ retired Microsoft Mechanical Engineer Engineer’s input on our project. He can’t retire as he wants to be involved in the “bigger” picture as we all do. Thanks again and keep spreading the word as it really energizes me.
