Top 10 Most Interesting Facts About Cymatics

Cymatics Here are 10 of the top most interesting facts about cymatics, this rapidly growing but still “underground” field of study spanning art, science and medicine…

1. Cymatics turns sound into a visible pattern that is often geometric in nature.

2. Cymatics may be the “clue” that proves sound is not a wave but a bubble.

3. Cymatics is used to help the hearing impaired learn to speak clearly. In fact a deaf student at the University of Edinburgh used cymatics to create a sound-based art show at his graduation.

4. Cymatic symbols may have been imbedded inside a chapel in Scotland in order to “encode” music secretly in the carved stone cubes lining the ceiling of the chapel.

5. Cymatics actually shows the stillness within sound, when applied to metal or membranes; however when applied to water cymatics reveals visuals of the sound itself.

6. Cymatics is currently being used by reseracher John Stuart Reid to record and decode the language of dolphins, including creating a “dolphin alphabet.”

7. Cymatics plates were played with a violin bow for astonished victorian audiences by Ernst Chaldini, the “father of acoustics,” in the 1700’s. (The same technique was used to create the plates in the photo above in 2009).

8. Cymatics can make matter actually “defy gravity” – for example, if you tip a plate sideways with liquid or particles on it, the matter will fall downward; but if sound is applied to the plate, the liquid will climb back up the plate to keep it’s cymatic form in defiance of gravity.

9. Cymatics has been quietly used by violin makers for years to help build better violins: by watching the shape of particles inside the violin they can perfect their carving of the body

And last but not least…

10. Cymatics can be used to see the geometric patterns of your voice at home using table salt and a simple device made out of 3 things you can get at the hardware store. You can get free instructions for how to make this device here.

P.S. Do you know about a “cymatic fact” (or maybe just a rumor worth investigating) that wasn’t listed above? Please let me know about it in the “comments” below, and I may include it in a future article!

Gravity’s frequency is about 10 to the 12th. And the force is function of “wave”. Orbits are determined and denied not by mass and velocity but cymatics determin orbit and mass. Mass then determines velocity cymatically.

i’ve read that cymatics may be the explanation as to how the universe was created. above is part 1 of a 3 part movie done by dr. hans jenny. i haven’t delved deeply into the matter, but i think its worth looking into.

It is heartening to see that the state of the art of modern Cymatic research is progressing healthily, from personal experience many of the findings are simply demonstrating true phenomena that many have trouble perceiving due to an inability to even allow for their existence, being something at once both more complex and fundamentally simple than the world as they comprehend it can admit.

Thank you for your continued work, but simply for the sake of presenting a solid face to the hypothetical skeptical observer, if emailed I would happily point out a minor typo, since for that envisioned pathologically critical individual that instance might be their only hope of transcending their belief in their beliefs.

There is such a thing as a “flakey skeptic” just as much as any “flakey hippy”, to deny much that is living in the world and even aspects of that within oneself is every bit as irrational as trying to treat a diabetic who fell badly due to insulin shock and suffered a compound fracture to their femur, with a quartz spire.

Interestingly enough, there likely is a manner in which a technological application of cymatics would assist with the diabetic crisis in that example, and most definitely room for a role that it could play in assisting with convalescence, I know that the most basic of studies has demonstrated some of that already.

Is there anyone working on research of cymatic effects in the electromagnetic spectrum? With fine enough control, possibly using whatever the emitting counterpart to John Zimmermans early SQUID machines would be, there would at least be some interesting insights into how we ourselves organize into coherency.

Just saying.

(also take a look into the work of Professor Nathan Babcock of Simon Fraser University here in British Columbia, as a proper scientist he does not leap to the conclusions implied by his findings, but they are there and tie into your own endeavours)
